“Canadianisms That Confuse Foreigners”
The above Infographic is the Featured Graphic in a WordPress article by Jules Sherred here. It is his design, he says. It is key feedback which resulted from a survey Jules ran among a sample of foreigners from different countries regarding some words we Canadians commonly use which they often didn’t understand when he used them.
You’ll enjoy reading Mr. Sherred’s definitions and his related explanations even if you are a fellow Canuk. My wife, Karen, will be pleased that he has her favourite location, “Chip Truck” featured largely near the centre.
Interestingly, most Canadians would expect to find a huge “eh” dead centre in the graphic’s centre because it’s the Canadianism for which we are MOST famous, in my opinion! If I’m NOT missing it, Jules’ omission of this expression from the graphic totally confuses me.
Likewise I don’t understand Jules’ not including another major Candianism, Canuk, they use to describe themself. (These are the descriptive terms Jules prefers as a self-proclaimed “Trans Canuk”.)
Blessings all …until we interact again!
