On Honey vs. Vinegar

“How To Get What You Want …Easiest!”

Until she got dementia late in life, my mum regularly shared with me her Southern Ontario, farm-country, folk sayings.

She called them “Sayins” because farm-raised folks from Grey County dropped their ‘g’s.

One of her favourites was based on Proverbs 16:24:

“You will always get more, Gary, using honey than vinegar!“

She’d wink and say the above whenever I tried being assertive or, worse, aggressive, and failed. After 73 years of failing, I think I get it, finally.

Your feelings and thought?

Blessings all!
