“Do You Believe in Miracles?

Another Patton Associates S-M-A-R-TBriefing

In addition to Jesus Himself being raised from the dead, the Bible records nine other instances of people being resurrected from their graves! (1 Kings 17:22; 2 Kings 4:33-36; & 13:21; Matthew 27:52; Luke 7:11-17 & 8:40-56; John 11:43-44; Acts 9:40-41 & 20:9-12). A couple of the resurrections done by the Prophet Elisha were done in a somewhat weird manner as recorded in the two Second Kings passages.

“Raised From The Dead! You Gotta Be Kidding?”

Believing trumps thinking
I kid you not! Really!!

Clearly, bringing someone back from the dead is not beyond God’s power today.” Jesus The King is the same yesterday, today, and forever, confirms Hebrews 13:8. Jesus raised people to life who were both physically and spiritually dead. You can read about those events at the above links in the Gospels.

Jesus also promised to His true Followers In John 14:12:
“I tell you the truth, anyone, who has faith in me will do what I have been doing. He will do even greater works than these, because I am going to the Father.”

So, since God is still capable of raising the dead, and since Jesus promised that God would perform great miracles through Jesus’ true Followers, raising the dead is still very possible today. This fact is biblically true!

Then, why does raising the dead not occur more regularly today? There are at least two reasons, in my opinion

“Miracles Don’t Get People Saved”

Not Everyone is saved!
You gotta catch fire with Jesus!

First, amazing miracles do not always lead people to genuine faith. Jesus stated clearly that this is true. He says in Luke 16:30-31 that if a person continues to reject the clear biblical promises of God re Jesus’ death being required so that He might save every dastardly person from our sin, no miracle will convince that person to give in, and accept that Jesus, “God, The One & Only” is our only Savior.

Romans 10:8-13 explains the ONLY way in “How To Personally Connect With God The Father”.

All a true Jesus Follower normally would accomplish by raising a dead person in the power of God would be to cause those who saw or hear about it to clamor for more miracles! Jesus himself says so in Matthew 12:39 and John 6:26!

Cool ain't all it's cracked up to be!
Pride goes before a fall!

“Christians Can Block God’s Miracles”

Secondly as to why God doesn’t raise more people from the dead today, especially in the West, the self-centeredness of too many Western Christians is very much the heart of some of us …as Snoopy boasts in the graphic here. Our lack of faith, therefore, disenfranchises many Christians from being used by God The Holy Spirit to accomplish all He wishes, through us! In Ephesians 2:8-10 “God, The One & Only” says so.

Please let me have your questions and comments about what you’d add to, or disagree with, about the above. Also, let me know how else I might be useful to you in any way?

Blessings in Jesus all …’till next we interact!
