“Disagreement Brings Opportunities”
“The widespread idea in our [Western] culture that the major religions of the world are fundamentally the same, with just supernatural differences, is not true.
“It is the differences, in fact that are fundamental! If we ignore the differences we ignore the person.
“There’d be nothing to learn if they’re just a carbon copy of me. If what they believe is different, then I need to get to know them.”
~ Andy Bannister, Canadian Director & Lead Apologist, Ravi Zacharias International Ministries (RZIM)
When discussing a matter with another about which you and they disagree, you are wise to do so with gentleness, kindness, and respect. This is the route with the greatest persuasion potential because all human beings are created in the image of God. They are entitled to this approach because s(he) has inestimable value.
This is especially true if you are a true Follower of Jesus and sharing His “Good News”.
“We live in a world in which Christianity is under fire from every direction. However, this is a tremendous opportunity”, Mr. Bannister states on p.32 of his article cited above. “The Gospel stands up powerfully in the marketplace of ideas,” he further maintains …particularly, I’d suggest, if we wisely share as I mentioned above.
Please let me have your questions and comments below about what you’d add to, or disagree with, about the above. Also, let me know how else I might be useful to you in any way?
Blessings in Jesus all …’till next we interact!
